I enjoyed tonight’s episode. It wasn’t the best or the most compelling, but it was interesting.
I was pretty into Beckdam’s A plot(mainly because I’m glad that in this portion of the season the writers gave Adam something to do) and I wanted to see how they dealt with the issue of Adam being transgender and the relationship potential between them. I was honestly pretty surprised when Becky broke it off with him. I was even more surprised that a relationship with so much hype around it ended within two episodes. However as we all know, a lot of the issues seen on the show are limited to a couple episodes.
Although I have no doubts that Becky and Adam will find a way around this little obstacle.
I’m warming up to Becky as well. As you may or may not know, I’ve had mixed feelings on her character and morals. But I totally understood the relationship between her and her parents and I love the respect she has for them in choosing to try reparitive therapy. I have the same respect for my own parents, even though we don’t necessarily agree all the time.
I still don’t care too much for Drew and Bianca’s problems. Probably because I don’t relate, although I do know a certain person who is a bit young to be engaged… *cough* Nisha *cough*
Anyway, I liked the underlying theme of parental relations in this episode. Yurp, not overanalyzing this show at all. xD I was totally on Bianca’s side when she argued with Drew over their ages. They’re both being really stubborn and naïve for not listening to Audra. They kept cutting her off, which honestly annoyed me more then Audra herself did in earlier seasons. Although Audra sometimes wants to embody the whole “mother knows best” concept way too much, but it happens.
NOW CAN WE PLEASE TALK ABOUT ELI’S SECOND-CHANCE SHORT HE MADE ABOUT HIS FEAR OF LEAVING CLARE? So fucking sweet. Feels, bro. It was such a minor subplot, but it said so much :]
As for Jake and Eli getting stoned, I was kinda mad because my headcanon that I posted a while back was that Campbell would use it to deal with his anxiety. I hope the writers don’t toss that possibility out the window because it has science to back it.
AND IF THEY DON’T WRITE IT, THEN GODDAMMIT I WILL.
I haven’t watched all of this, but gosh, I have to say that Aislinn seems like a really sweet, genuine girl. She’s very eloquent and seems really down-to-earth and fun. She’s so beautiful!
I’ll keep this brief, as I was not able to catch most of the episode because my parents kept flying around and interrupting -__- You see, my parents don’t necessarily allow me to watch Degrassi. They’re conservative. So from what I did see: • Fucking Bhandurner. Still so annoying. • Imogen, sweetheart, bby, you’re adorable as fuck and deserve a round of appluase for it. • Eclare. Eli further matured and proved he was a perfect boyfriend when he went to go get Clare’s internship back. It was so thoughtful, because all he wanted was to see Clare happy again. And then at her party, Dallas comes in and has to be heartless about the entire thing. I really wanted to punch him. I can’t tolerate people who take advantage of others, or of people who are already so clearly in pain. (Please note I only hate Dallas as a person/character, Demetrius Joyette on the other is someone I am fairly sure is a sweetheart haha. He’s so good at playing this guy xD) The way Eli finally got Clare to talk was heartwrenching, and the fact that he didn’t blame her after her revelation, instead having compassion and understanding what Clare went through was beautiful. If I could give out Emmys on my own, I’d hand them over to Aislinn Paul and Munro Chambers, because they both really conquered that scene. Aislinn further portrayed Clare’s numbness flawlessly, and Munro as the worried boyfriend was absolutely perfect. Eli’s supportiveness helped Clare slowly find that peaceful state of mind again. The state where one realizes that things are going to get better. Flawless. • On a sidenote, Dave’s Niner fanclub is adorable. BUT WHERE’S ZIG. AND HIS CORNDOG. • Jatie was adorable. If Jake and Katie ever get married, she’ll be a welcome addition to the Martin-Edwards family. • I think that concussion is really getting to Drew’s head, because I don’t know what he’s thinking being a dropout wanting to get married. I promise I’ll catch up tomorrow night!
Clare just can’t catch a break can she? The season started out with her and Eli back together, all happy and shit, then she snags what she THINKS is her dream internship only to be sexually harrassed by her own mentor. She tries to see if any other interns have gone through it, but none of them have. She has no proof, and in the process of trying, Dallas gets her drunk and tries to kiss her RIGHT after she drunkenly vents about being sexually harrassed. Clare’s life at this moment is pretty much shit. What I really took to heart was the way Clare and Jake’s relationship has transitioned from romantic, to the awkward “uh we’re family now” to a real sibling relationship. I haven’t seen that since Darcy moved away. I also loved hammered Clare xD and the way she interrupted Jake and Katie. Hilarious. A+ in comedy haha. The article that Clare wrote was something that really needs applauding. “My journalism senses are tingling.” I laughed really hard at that because I wrote an anger article like that once in Journalism class this past year haha.(I can give you the link if you ask) Also, the way Clare just accepted her punishment was glorious. Also, a big shoutout to Eli for getting protective over Clare when Dallas had his grill in Katie, Jake, and Clare’s faces. I actually wanted to cry, oh my God. Katie is totally correct when she says that the Ice Hounds are the worst thing that’s happened to Degrassi(Except Campbell bby). I mean, there have been worse, like the shooting with Rick, but it’s the team that’s really just giving all the students these negative vibes. Dallas, you asshat. Luke, you unholy hypocrite. Owen, you…Owen. As for Drew…you’re sending your life down the drain and are failing to grasp the concept of what real living is. I’m so glad Bianca is changing, especially after being the school slut and after being treated like a toy by Vince. I guess being thrown around like that made her realize that if she didn’t try harder at life, she’d end up on the streets. God bless the writers for giving Bianca more depth as well. Once again, I’m left incredibly confused by Bhandurner. Are they on? Are they off? I don’t even know anymore and frankly, its getting irritating and boring. On the other hand, I was really invested in the cast showmance. Tori, Tristan, and Dave are just precious. It was interesting to see Dave get into the arts at the beginning of the season, and now he has a guest stint on his favorite show. All the awards to Jahmil French for his acting and talent, and to the writers for letting it show. Anothe standing ovation to Aislinn Paul for portraying the numbness of the aftermath of being sexually harrassed. The flashback scenes were heartbreaking, and seeing Clare lie to everyone she loved out of fear was painful, but in a good way. Aislinn KILLED it.
I’m all hyped up and patriotic thanks to a few gold medals won tonight by the US haha. I’ll keep this brief.
So anyway…I’m really proud Jenna has found a way to get back on track. Her choice to become a Christian (although for selfish reasons at first) has ended up making her a slightly better person. I especially liked the little speech Alli’s mom gave her on faith.
And I’m actually starting to like Becky. Although I don’t necessarily agree with her beliefs, she’s reminding me to get back to taking church seriously. She and Luke are no longer just FFA trolls lol.
As for Drew…I hope he figures something out soon. Personally, I think this whole high school dropout thing will just come back to bite him in the ass.
However, I think that instead of Drew’s family and friends bringing him down and telling him what he can and can’t do, they should encourage him to do better and believe that Drew actually can bring up his grades.
Also tonight, there was a perfect KC moment: “Stuff Clare says!” God Bless Sam Earle. I’m glad Clare is starting to take herself less seriously and having fun.
And I love that video of Adam, Connor and KC made of Clare haha.
The only thing missing was more Eclare.

I just wanna hold Cam, and tell him everything will be okay. In my previous post, I mentioned how I hoped Maya would be there for him…My hopes came true!
I think he’s one of my new favorite characters since Eli and JT(may he rest in peace.)
And Bianca’s wisdom, like her sass, is also appreciated. “High school sucks. Spend time with people who don’t.” That will be a legendary line.
Jake and Katie, still adorable as ever haha. What I really appreciated this episode was Jake’s go-getter attitude and his need to do something good. It’s a huge twist from the “dating my sister” storyline. I’m glad Jake was able to face that he couldn’t do his project alone. And the father-son moment at the end was amazing.
On to Bhandurner. The wait for the pregnancy test results were nerve-wracking. But I’m really proud that Alli decided to keep her main dream alive after finding out that she wasn’t pregnant. (On a side note, I really loved that Clare supported her all the way.) Alli learned her lesson. Dave was an ass for thinking that she was selfish…I mean, what? Curing breast cancer, saving millions of lives…selfish, absolutely.
And so I applaud Alli for being a perfect feminist.
